Vlend is the solo project of Alex Oliver, a Mexican-Canadian singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, best known as the former lead vocalist and main songwriter for Guatemalan rock band, DeLiria. Vlend was born October 2023, following the hiatus of DeLiria, as a means of channeling Alex's quest for meaning, inner thoughts and feelings. His influences span a wide variety of genres and artists, making way for the conception of a fresh take on the modern urban scene. Writing in both English and Spanish, Vlend incorporates elements from Bedroom Pop, Art Pop, Garage Rock, R&B, Jazz, Bolero, Bachata and many more. Always writing from the gut, Vlend lyrically explores what it feels like to live abroad, fall in love, feeling out of place with your friends and your overall context. Seeking to define existence not through an external label assigned at birth, but rather through his love for life coming from within.
