An in your face blend of melodies, Death Metal and Hardcore, we distil a dark essence: Playful, with haunting melodies, but always direct, raw and hard. This blend of melodies, Death Metal and Hardcore is not an end in itself for WHEN AT NIGHT but part of the artistic expression: The band proves that to play powerful, concise and brutal music there is no extravaganza necessary. The main ingredients the band loves to share with its audience live and on records are a down-to-earth attitude and an explosion of energy. A standard five piece is enough to create something which is far bigger than the sum of its parts. WHEN AT NIGHT offers a wild rollercoaster ride of heaviness, brutality and emotional melodies. The lyrics are full of dissenting criticism of the injustices of our time, of the failure of humans to be humane. But still, there is always this spark of rationality which still might be victorious if only one would use their own mind.
