MASSE is the solo project of Wout Vantieghem.
MASSE stands for massive — something that is immediately reflected in the project’s bombastic, dynamic songs. At the same time, within that mass lies layering: compositions built from multiple elements, stories that cannot be captured in a single line. There is always something to discover beneath the surface, but nothing is forced upon the listener. “The listener chooses their own mass”: those who want to can lose themselves in the complexity, while others are simply carried away by the hooks of the music.
The debut immediately reveals the essence of MASSE: cerebral, layered music in which control and chaos, structure and intensity are constantly in dialogue.
