ZINNIA is the Toronto-based art pop project of Rachael Cardiello. With layered synth and driving beats, ZINNIA brings an explosive range to Cardiello's writing, equal parts intimate and fierce. Once described as “Kate Bush meets Meatloaf" and first to declare a deep love for Springsteen, this is joy with depth, this is salt and sequins, this is ZINNIA. Since debuting on the Toronto scene in February 2019, ZINNIA has released four singles and an album to great acclaim including CBC's "Best Lyrics of 2019" List, toured across Canada and the USA, opened for the legendary Shonen Knife at POP Montreal, played in Jason Collett's series The Basement Review, and sold out multiple album release shows in Toronto and Montana - Cardiello's home state. Their debut album Sensations in Two Dot seeks to find compassion within moments of doubt and was released as a series of dances in collaboration with 9 choreographers and 11 dancers.
