Tyrielle “T.O.R.N” Nichols is an African-American hip-hop recording artist from the Westbank of New Orleans. Born to Laura Lee Harper and Tyruss Nichols on April 28th, 1996, her mother--singer, rapper, songwriter, was her earliest influence. Fostering her relationship with music and songwriting, T.O.R.N’S gifting in lyricism and performance began showing at the tender age of 4.
Her earliest writing began in the form of poetry—gradually spreading to songwriting and spoken word as she matured.
Music has always been an outlet and a passion. Her admiration of Hip-Hop and R&B figures has inspired, but also challenged her to create music that speaks to the heart and reality of listeners--while avoiding the sexualization of women and fantasized promotion of violence and drug use. More importantly, her message aims to reveal her relationship with Christ--using her gifts to uplift, encourage, and inspire others.
