I’ve been writing since I was a kid—what started as little poems in elementary school slowly turned into lyrics. In high school, I fell in love with music from the ’50s and ’60s, wanting to hear where the music of today really came from. At 16, I joined NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International), wrote my first full song, and even got to record it on a cassette tape with the help of another writer. I made a couple of trips to Nashville, where I met writers and producers who encouraged me to keep going.
Then life happened. For the next 25+ years, songwriting took a backseat.
Now I’m back, and it feels like starting fresh—with more stories to tell and a lot more life behind me. The biggest reason for that is my soon-to-be wife. She has lit a fire in me that makes me want to chase every dream I’ve ever had. With AI, I’ve found a way to bring my lyrics to life again. It’s not perfect, but it lets me share what I hear in my head with others.
