In a one-room apartment in an industrial building, between the dripping gutters and the new luxury towers of South Tel Aviv, nine songs were written in the last two years. Hybrids like ninja turtles, rich in mutations they caught from the sewers - they crept into the world, strong and vulnerable.
These songs - which include elements of art-pop, dream-pop, folk, krautrock and house - were arranged by David Lerner together with the producer Shlomi Mantsur into a debut album that will be released at the beginning of next year. The first single from it is expected to be released this May.
David was born in Jerusalem but grew up in Tel Aviv. He began his musical training at the age of 4, studying the violin, but has always been drawn to the worlds of pop, punk and experimental music and dreamed of combining them. His songs have multiple identities, elusive and fluid; His voice, thick and rough at its core, sometimes sounds soaring and heavenly and sometimes colloquial, heavy or liltin
