Growing up surrounded by music, my passion was profoundly influenced by my grandfather, a world-renowned trombone musician who played with legends like Louis Armstrong during the Big Band era. This musical legacy was further nurtured by my father, who sang Doo Wop and played the upright bass.
My journey into music began in the second grade when I joined the South Bronx Action Theatre, where I learned to play the African drum. This foundational experience led me through junior high and high school, where I played in various bands. To this day, those early roots allow me to collaborate with diverse Latin bands across San Diego and beyond, including local Afro-Cuban ensembles, the Manny Cepeda Orchestra, and several church worship bands. I have also had the honor of sharing the stage with Tito Puente Jr.
I am immensely grateful for the opportunities that music has provided me, and I now have the chance to create some of my own tunes. I hope you enjoy.
