The Kissing Bandit, a.k.a. Andie Angelis (they/them), is a songwriter and self-taught producer with a DIY, punk-rock ethos from Vancouver, BC. Andie’s early love of music has evolved into a wide variety of inspirations, including ‘70s hard rock, ‘80s electronic, ‘90s alt rock, ‘60s and ‘00s garage-rock, and ‘10s EDM-pop. They gravitate the most towards artists who were disruptors of their time; these influences include the likes of: Björk, Nirvana, the Strokes, Patti Smith, Gorillaz, Lady Gaga, and many more. In their music, they explore themes of queer love, mental health, life under late stage capitalism, and their identity as a bisexual nonbinary person.
