Born in London England 1962 Andy began his musical life in Edinburgh, Scotland playing guitar with Dog Faced Hermans, a multi faceted eclectic group that mixed energetic post punk energy with traditional tunes ,African Music and improvisation. In 1990 he joined Dutch band The Ex and played in both bands till 1995 when DFH stopped. In more recent years Andy has collaborated with Yannis Kyriakides (Cypriot composer ) they perform rebetika songs and other compositions , several projects with Anne James Chaton ( french sound poet) in collaboration with a.o. Thurston Moore, Alva Noto and data artist Josh Begley , DJ/Rupture ( brooklyn based Dj , producer and writer) ,and Christine Abdelnour (Lebanese saxophonist) He composes soundtracks for films working with Iranian filmaker Bani Khoshnoudi and Jem Cohen. Also a quartet Lean Left , a duo with genevieve Murphy, a trio with John Butcher & Thomas Lehn, and duo with Marion Coutts. He DJs and does a monthly radio show on Echobox.
