Bruce McCrae; it’s a soul-bossa-jazz thing. Searching out the melodic line less travelled, Bruce delivers musical hooks amongst crafted arrangements revealing his influences of @Elvis Costello, @Marvin Gaye, @Sarah Vaughan and @Joao Gilberto. Brought up in the Midlands Bruce's first band, The Prime Movers recorded sessions for radio with @John Rivers (The Specials, Ghost Town) @Woodbine Studios. Whilst in Birmingham his love of Jazz blossomed; collaborations with local jazz musicians followed. A move to north London saw influential lessons from the virtuoso Spanish guitarist @Eduardo Niebla which fuelled Bruce’s distinctive guitar style. In recent years he’s had features on local radio and performances at The Pavilion Jazz Festival. 2019 saw the release of his first album solo album @Exquisite Imperfect. This showcases his passion for songwriting with thoughtful melodic twists, cherished spaces and crafted lyrics. Bruce is now excited to be working on his 2nd album!
