“I write one song most days. I record them at home. I release them as they are. There’s no schedule beyond that.” Ben Don Sherwood is an Australian recording songwriter. For several years he built elaborate, lavish, fully produced records alone — writing, arranging, performing and producing every instrument himself. That scale came at a cost. Spending a year polishing a single album meant sacrificing hundreds of songs that would otherwise never be recorded. Sherwood changed the method. He writes one song most days, records it at home as a raw, authentic live take, and releases it exactly as it arrives. It is now a living philosophy. Acoustic guitar and voice. No production. No touching up. No overdubs. The recordings are grouped into eleven-track albums as they accumulate, creating an expanding archive of daily songwriting. Then he leaves the songs behind.
