I've been writing songs for as long as I can remember. Even as a boy, younger than 10, I recall creating melodies in my head, without the aid of a musical instrument, writing down lyrics compete with handclap interludes and chorus breaks. Some years later, at the age of 13, I discovered what may be called for lack of a better name, "Independent Folk" music. It was the music of the shy, genius English folk songwriter Nick Drake that led me, inexorably, to the acoustic guitar. I was utterly captivated upon hearing the unique rhythmic tapestry of harp-like tones emanating both warmly and brightly from his guitar. I was lucky enough to receive an acoustic guitar for my 13th birthday and so began my earnest exploration of melody, harmony, and the acoustic guitar that has since been a life-long passion of mine.
