I was born as a premature baby in Kyoto, Japan. I lost sight in my right eye when I was a high-school student. I started playing the saxophone, EWI and composing music while I was a Japanese university student. I played at live houses, radio station in Fukushima. I moved to Tokyo after graduating from the university. I played at live houses, even on streets during the time that I had been working as a part-time worker. I started going to Berkelee College of Music after I lived in Tokyo for a few years. I had tuberculosis around one year after I became the college student so that I quit playing the wind instruments for a while. Because of that, I had a chance to concentrate on composing music. I started working as an English teacher in Nagano after graduating from the College. I composed music for P.R. videos and TV commercials during the time that I had been working as the teacher.
