Brendan Regan is an artist bent on capturing stories and feelings of struggle, then widening the aperture to show beauty and empowerment. Pulling influences from 60/70s folk, indie folk, and traditional Celtic, he paints in a bittersweet palette but gives his songs driving rhythm and lush, dynamic texture. In a voice that evokes warm wood and burnished brass, Regan tells the stories of struggling couples, addicts, and blue collar wage workers as they suffer, drift apart, and cope with homesickness. But through the melancholy vibes, the music soars instead of plods, and the subjects heal, evolve, and experience love.
