Bucki Sugar is a rapper, songwriter and producer from Central Florida. Born Maro Abdelmola in New York to an Egyptian family, he was exposed to many different cultures before settling in the south for his formative years. His musical palette was constantly being poured into by his father, but his initial love for music came when his older brother exposed him to artists such as A Tribe Called Quest, D’Angelo, Wu-Tang, and J Dilla. As a teenager, Bucki ventured into other genres and became the frontman for Southern-California hardcore/hip-hop fusion band SET SIGHTS. Later signed to Warner subsidiary Tragic Hero Records, and eventually going on to do 13 nation-wide tours. Shortly after parting ways, Bucki began working on his solo endeavors with frequent collaborators such as Two Fresh, Sherwyn, and Mazen. In 2023, he plans to release his debut EP inspired by his natural ability to express honesty and vulnerability through music. "My goal is to make something that holds you in a moment."
