Chard started writing lyrics and music while learning guitar in the late 80s and kept going with it off and on through marriage, raising four children, youth pastoring, teaching, and lab science work. In late 2022 Chard got seriously re-acquainted with his musical passion and in 2024 finally had opportunity to start studio recording work on three albums of his material over the years. Chard considers himself a disciple of Jesus, a devoted wordsmith, and creatively Spirit-led, "which, along with some occasionally tasty musicianship, makes for music that I'm confident should be out there for impact and enjoyment."
