Damien Yorke had an early introduction to music. Spending much of his early childhood at his grandparents, he navigated regularly towards his grandfathers piano in the corner of the spare room. After a year of personal musical exploration, he finally convinced his parents to allow him to receive regular weekly professional tutoring. What followed were years of immersion into a world of differing classical styles, from traditional baroque composers to more modern, contemporary neo-classical works. After studying music at University in the north of England, Damien then spent the next decade touring the world with a collection of world class session musicians. This further widened his musical education, developing a love and passion for a wide range of genres. Damien cites the works of Ludovico Einaudi, Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnolds, Thomas Newman, Yann Tierson and Max Richter as his most prominent influences. His debut solo piano work ‘Perspectives’ was released in May 2021.
