After more than a decade away from the mic, Dave Mabee is stepping back into the music scene with a renewed voice, a full heart, and a deeper purpose. Born from the vibrant underground hip-hop scene in Los Angeles, Dave made his early mark performing in various groups and releasing a solo album under the name Del Rio. His style blended soulful storytelling with West Coast rhythm, but eventually, life led him down other paths—career, fatherhood, and the quiet, everyday moments that don’t make it into the songs… until now. The recent loss of his sister to cancer, a close friend’s ALS diagnosis, and the tragic suicide of another friend hit hard—reminding Dave how short and fragile life really is. In that grief, something shifted. He realized there were things he needed to say: to his kids, his wife, his family, his friends, and maybe even to himself.
