Dave Masters’ “Moods” is a series of ambient drone pieces meant to capture less structured moments in time rather than the refined post-rock instrumental music he has created over the last 15 years as a founding member of Signal Hill. These experimental ambient tracks are composed from very short 1-2 second guitar clips, and heavily processed live and on the fly, almost impossible to replicate again, capturing the mood for one singular moment. There will be three separate “Moods” EPs released over the next year along with a collaborative remix project of his ambient pieces. Dave Masters “Moods” will be marketed and promoted through Better Looking Records, the indie label known for its releases with Tristeza and The Album Leaf among others. Set among the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dave Masters ambient textures and drone explorations suggest the many moods and emotions that are felt in isolation or coping with daily life turned upside down; from anxiety to hopefulness to joy.
