dePelt started playing music in elementary school band on trumpet, continuing into middle school and marching band. High school was about learning to play guitar. dePelt played Electric guitar in hard rock cover bands until moving to Boston in the late 1970's - and played bass guitar in the new wave band "Tossing off" until moving back to California and largely playing in small alternative music groups. Lately - dePelt has continued recording with a focus on original tunes inspired by travel - and re-arranging and structuring some cover tunes ranging from traditional and gospel to more modern pop, folk, and rock tunes from the 60's, 70's, and 80s.
