Born and raised on the North side of Milwaukee, WI on Hampton Ave., MC/Poet Don Jay Live (formerly “EliVate”; govt.: Donavan Jackson) made his first appearance as a recording artist in 2014 with the release of his 20 track Mixtape via Datpiff.com entitled “Something I Wrote Last Night" or "SIWLN” On the mix-tape you can hear the heavy influences of Common and Talib Kweli, two of Don Jay's favorite lyricists. The Hip-Hop MC's 'Something II Consider' - EP, released in 2018, is a play off of his first mix-tape title: 'Something I Wrote Last Night' or 'S.I.W.L.N'. At the end of 2019, Don Jay Live released three singles and began the year 2020 with the 'Smidgen' - EP that included those and a few new sounds. What’s in store next is sure to be a sight to see.
