Richards Bay

Dream Vilanculos is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer crafting poetic, message-driven music at the intersection of folk, indie pop, and South African sounds. Dream uses thoughtful songwriting to touch on deeper human truths. Dream’s musical path was far from traditional. Starting as a rapper before transitioning into producing trance music. Everything shifted when the acoustic storytelling and lyrical depth of artists like Paul Simon, Jeremy Loops, and Joshua Kadison inspired a new direction. Armed with a borrowed guitar, Dream began writing sentimental, narrative-rich songs and honing a live presence through local talent shows. Having written and self-produced music since 2017, Dream continues to build a distinct sound that pairs reflective storytelling with vibrant sonic influences.
