Born in Leicester and heavily influenced by Soul music, Ella moved to Bristol in 2003 where she joined trip hop band “Sourmash”. Their unusual mix of Ella's Neo Soul vocals and Trip Hop were discovered by Crissy Cris on Radio 1 in 2005.  After touring and shows at Glastonbury festival, Ella sang for DnB producers including TC, where she met D-Product (Full Cycle / Roni Size). They started writing together, but felt they were not ready to release. Ella released her first Jazz EP, “Pray” written with piano legend Anders Olinder, which was well received by Robert Glasper, Jazz Fm and performed at Womad.  But Ella was missing Drum n Bass. When Covid hit she wrote and released a Dub track with Innereyefull which went straight to Number 1 in the Juno charts for a month and rekindled ideas with D Product. “Beats Control” was born, our new single out on Friday 3rd December.  Ella plans to release more DnB bangers in the New Year with other top DnB producers.
