My earliest memory is staring at the psychedelic checkerboard record player my parents had set up next to my crib. By the age of five, my family relocated to a more densely populated neighborhood surrounding the elementary school. One afternoon, while heading home from the playground, an honest to goodness, real Garage Band was practicing with the door open to the street. In that instant, I knew I wanted to play drums in a rock band, and that banging on pots and pans with wooden spoons would no longer do.
