Born in a small Canadian town, now residing in Toronto, Étienne is an alt-pop singer who translates his points of views in his music. Mixing fantasy with real lived experience, each song stands out by its specific atmosphere and tone. The fusion of genres and themes gives him a particular style, at the confluence of classic rock of bands like Queen and Fleetwood Mac and more contemporary pop of Harry Styles, and Lana Del Rey and The Lumineers. Étienne’s writing often speaks of love, heartbreak, grief, and longing, interspersed with bits of wry social commentary. Étienne’s recently established career leaves much space for what’s to come, and the best song is almost certainly the next one. Marked by the work of self-exploration, Étienne’s musical project is open-ended and ever-changing. The one constant : an honest love of the music and an undeniable sense of joy.
