Mark is a guitarist and composer whose music blends cinematic imagery, adventurous spirit, and reverb-soaked guitar tones. Influenced early on by 60s instrumental records and movie soundtracks—Spaghetti Westerns, Surf, Spy, Exotica, Flamenco, and Middle Eastern sounds—his style evokes atmosphere and imagination.
In the 1990s, he co-founded The Sandblasters in Austin, TX, a powerhouse instrumental trio known for their aggressive, twang-heavy sound. With three albums, numerous compilation appearances, and music featured in films and documentaries, the band became a staple of the 90s surf/instrumental revival. Their legacy is captured in The Sandblasters Anthology: Defenders of the Twang.
Now recording under his own name, Mark continues to evolve with Guitar Nomad—a solo project that fuses psych, chill grooves, and progressive textures. Playing all instruments himself, he creates soundscapes that invite introspection, storytelling, and escape.
