Violent Breakfast
“Violent Breakfast” is a very personal song of mine. One of the only songs I’ve ever written based on true events. It is about an ED and body dysmorphia. Something that I’ve had to deal with most of my teen life. And something that most people I know go through as well. I wrote this song to bring awareness to this subject. It’s not talked about enough and it can affect your mental health tremendously. Even though my song is on the sad note, lyrics like “I wish that I was skinny but with some D cup tities” can be relatable to many. Your mind bullying your body, setting up unrealistic body proportions/beauty standards. Writing this song eased my mind. Being so vulnerable in a song was so scary for me, but I know someone had to say it. Even though I still struggle with body dysmorphia, the fact that I’m not alone in this is comforting. And if I’m able to help people/ bring awareness and let them know that they’re not the only ones that go through this/think this way. That is the biggest accomplishment a musician can ever achieve with their music. And I hope “Violent Breakfast” can do that for you. more
