Gary Dale Scott is a 4th generation blue-collar musician and singer-songwriter; he comes from folks who have made a living playing, recording, and writing music most of their lives. Scott's family's musical history includes: the Renfro Valley Barn Dance; one of the most recorded songs in country music; the early days of country music television; the Grand Ole Opry; radio broadcasting legends; country music legends; a double platinum album; working and recording with one of the biggest bands in country music; and changing the sound of that beloved genre. This beautiful history began on a hillside in northern Kentucky with a relationship between Gary Dale Scott's great grandfather Raymond, who was a farmer/blacksmith, and a former slave named Jim who served as a field hand on the family farm. The musical seed that was planted over 100 years ago, is still fruitful today. Gary Dale Scott is proud to carry on that storied family musical tradition.
