Hayley Marshall is a young musician based on Darug land. She has played live gigs all around New South Wales since she was 18 but has been performing since she was 6 and writing her own music since she was 13. Inspired by artists such as Billy Joel, Green Day, Paramore, Led Zeppelin, and Miley Cyrus, she draws upon her life experience with mental illness, being a part of the LGBTQ+ community, and living in the 21st century and weaves it into song. Hayley began producing music when she was 13. Finding or creating instrumentals and recording her voice over them with her earphones in GarageBand. In 2022, she wrote ‘Mania’ about her experience with the highs that bipolar disorder brings. From there, everything snowballed. Hayley’s Instagram is filled with mental health awareness, social causes, and her dry sense of humour, which encapsulates who she is as a person.
