See You Leave
My first song under my new indie pop project Hugert. See You Leave is an upbeat song with a hint of melancholy. The main hook is a catchy synth melody, teamed with simple yet driven drums, and dreamy/reverby vocals. It's similar to new Wallows/The Weeknd/Dayglow if I had to compare it. I had a great time making this and I look forward to making more. I hope you like it :)more

Parking Lot
Parking Lot was written over the span of a couple months, with many stylistic changes throughout the way. Originally being only guitar based, it eventually evolved into a more full sound when I began experimenting with synth, bells, and drums. This song was written to capture some of my most intense thoughts, fears, and doubts about life goals, worldview, and religion. It’s easy to feel alone in these darker moments, but it is my hope that those of you out there who struggle with the same thoughts will feel some comfort from knowing it isn’t just you. And for those of you who can’t relate to the lyrics, I hope you can empathize with those who do! It’s a confusing world, and sometimes it only gets more confusing the more you think about it. But I hope that this song will be a reminder to dig deep and hold on tight to those you love (and those you don’t!) as they’re digging.more

Pink
An original completely recorded with only an acoustic guitar and cheap USB microphone. Gives off sort of a "With or Without You" by U2 vibe. Mixed and mastered by me using only GarageBand. This is my first original, and its a project I used to learn more about recording and mixing. Very excited about the final product, put in a lot of hours. The bridge and 2nd chorus are the best parts in my opinion. What do you guys think? Any recommendations for future songs?more
