Addis Ababa born Ethiopian MC Mike “iMajik” AKA The Habesha Biggie AKA Asmategnaw Miki started tinkering with rap music at the age of 16. He started performing with some friends and went on to make his first mixtape at the age of 17. After moving to the United States, he elevated his musical abilities when he started college in 2004. He started performing at local talent shows with his friend Teddy as they formed the musical group ETHIO VOICE! After getting the moniker iMajik in 2009, Mike shifted his focus on rapping in his native language of Amharic. He released his first mixtape Hulgize Andegna in 2013 and the title track was a standout among local fans. After retooling the mixtape and adding some songs, he released Hulgize Andegna vol 2 in 2016 with a music video for the song “Hoya Hoye” which has over 35K views on YouTube. When the pandemic hit, iMajik decided it was time to release his first album. Addis to Minneapolis represents his life’s work and he is very proud of it.
