After many years of serving and leading worship in her local congregation, Joya Smith shared her talents with a wider audience and moved into the next phase of her ministry with the release of her first single, "Only Jesus." Joya's musical path started in childhood. Along the way, she has been a vocalist, pianist, and worship leader. It was in the early period of the Covid-19 pandemic when Joya began narrowing her focus on songwriting. Joya's lyrics and melodies seek to authentically mirror Christ's message, stirring believers to deepen their own biblical understanding and strengthen their relationship with God. She seeks to lift people's gaze to behold Jesus. Joya believes that music is one of the most encouraging gifts God has given us. When not writing music or serving in her local church, Joya focuses on enjoying life with her husband and son. Throughout her life, Joya has seen God's faithfulness and love. She writes from that vulnerable place of awareness and gratitude.
