Jarred “J-Riv” Rivas is an emcee & producer born in the Bronx but raised in Middletown, NY. Though currently resides in Charlotte, NC, he never strays away from his NY roots. He’s been rapping & making beats since his mid teens with a unique production style. In where most beat makers used MPCs and/or FL Studio to make their beats, he learned from a childhood friend how to utilize his human beatboxing skills to create beats from scratch. He evolved into using real instrument sounds but still utilize his beatboxing skills every now and then. Primarily working with underground artists/producers, his credentials include working with Ghost of the Machine, Fredo Crespo, Death Over Simplicity, James Green, Reks, Speedy T. Monsta, Jay Bernard, Mistr Adams, Kiture, & longtime collaborator and friend Gully Gee, as well as new upcoming artist Chris Amethyst.
