Portland, OR, USA
Julianna Bright is a musician, artist and healer. She began her musical life at the margins of the Bay Area punk scene in the 90’s. Her band The Quails (founded with Jen Smith, credited with inspiring the term Riot Grrl) toured with bands like Sleater Kinney, Aislers Set and Hella. Golden Bears, her band with husband Seth Lorinczi, were a Portland underground favorite and an iTunes & Amazon alternative pick of the week. Her children’s music project Cat Doorman won the Parents’ Choice Award and remains a mainstay on Sirius Satellite’s Kids’ Place Live years later. Bright’s music today speaks to sacred embodiment, rematriation of the land, ancestral healing, and creativity as an antidote to trauma and despair. She lives in Portland with her family and also stewards land in Western Oregon.
