Justin Siu is a Hong Kong based jazz bassist, cellist and composer. He began with his classical cello training at the age of nine and swept up many music awards during his youth. However, music took a distant backseat for years as Siu pursued his master's in computer science at the University of Cambridge. His inner musical fervor did not reignite until years later when the then silicon-valley geek discovered the world of jazz in the States, prompting an abrupt change of career to become a jazz bassist. Upon returning to Hong Kong, he actively participated and spearheaded many creative projects and collaborated with renowned local and foreign jazz artists. His most notable appearances included the Macau Jazz Week (2015), Hong Kong International Jazz Festival (2016/2017), Daegu International Jazz Festival in South Korea (2018) and Hong Kong Freespace Jazz Festival (2020-2023) and also, as a script writer, literature+jazz show "Let's hear: The Jazz Winds of Haruki Murakami" (2023
