Kait Warner is a PA-born, NYC-based performer and writer. She has performed with Heather Christian in the live recordings of Animal Wisdom and at the Public. She has Assistant Directed Off-Broadway, including at Signature Theatre on a show that earned a NYT Critics’ Pick. She plays in the pit band for a new musical from an Emmy Award-winning composer. As a lifelong choral musician, her music is influenced by innovative vocal arrangements & novel harmonic vocabularies. Inspired by surrealist traditions in aleatoric composition, dramaturgical practices, & intertextuality, her process is continually focused on intuition, evolution, and chance. Thematically, she is drawn to the dark & spacious underbelly of femininity, & sonically is influenced by trailblazers such as Fiona Apple, Nancy Sinatra, Buffy Sainte-Marie, and Laura Nyro. Her hypnotic soundscapes and playful versatility invite the listener into their own longing, subconscious fantasies, and emotional borderlands.
