KRT_ (read as Kurt Underscore) 's music was conceived via an eclectic mix of ethereal worldly beats inspired by her Manila-born + New York-native vibe in addition to her wild mixed ethnicities. She is a self-taught musician and mezzo-soprano singer with 20 years unconventional experience of metal/punk/hardcore/DnB/funk drummer ; composing music & producing intricate beats through ear & has been singing expressively since her earliest memories. Her vast music inspiration was curated way back in her childhood years: sitting through long hours of watching MTV Europe, Channel V, VH1, et. al's countdown playlists; soundtrippin' with her flamboyant gay uncles who were, perhaps, accountable on their contribution to her deep obsession of the avant-garde, goth, metal & alternative taste; and her mother's expansive sound recording & major music labels resumé. KRT_ is an active member of ASCAP.
