Born Ricardo A. Mills in Waterhouse, Lejahni was singin’ before He could speak. His Mom, says He would follow Her around from the time He was two always humming because He couldn’t form the words. His parents – Mom, Janet was born in Mavisvank St. Andrew, His Dad, Cecile was born in Clarendon St. Catherine. Together they raised their 8 children in Kingston until immigrating to the United States in 1987. Lejahni and His siblings stayed with their Grandparents in Jamaica until their Parents got settled. He attended Drewsland and St. Patrick’s Primary School during this time. In 1989, at 12 Lejahni moved from Kingston to Brooklyn, NY to finally be with His Family. Lejahni’s earliest memory of wanting to become an artist was when He was six. His Father owned a smill Juice and Snack Shop in the comunity and Many times musicians would come in and Lejahni would be fascinated to see them. He admired them. Wanted to be like them.
