My first experience with music I connected to on a deeply personal level was in 2008 when I heard Taylor's Swift album "Fearless" for the very first time. Since then, I've never been able to stop writing songs. People always ask me, "Why do you write songs?" Here's the simple answer: If I can help one person through a hard experience or connect with them in some way that betters their life through my music, I've accomplished my goal. There are a million people out in the world who feel alone - but music can connect us all. I write about very vulnerable personal experiences because I know that I not the only person who has gone through it before. I'm honest about my own shortcomings, problems, misunderstandings in my songs because I know that I'm not the only one who feels that way. I write music because other people need to know that they are heard, seen, and understood.
