My mother says I have been singing since I could breathe. I come from a big artistic family where music was always very influential in my life. My father from the town of Taormina, would play the most diverse cultural styles of music from Inkuyo tribes sounds of the native Incas, to Greek composer Yanni, to multiple Italian folk artists, Tribal Mediterranean tunes, to Bob Marley, Billie Holiday, and many more in between. I grew up in a Caribbean & Latino community just north of Manhattan, where I learned performing from the streets of NY. By age 7, I started writing songs, singing in church and the Backstreet Boys taught me everything else I knew about harmonic composition, I cannot lie.
My dream was to go to Italy and connect with my roots while pursuing my love of singing. A dream that probably would of never have happened had it not been for a very fortunate turn of events. FINISH READING AT : www.reverbnation.com/mariadicara
