London based artist Marl-E has dancehall deep in his roots. From the legacy of his grandfather’s street parties in Newland, Witnessing live stage show at a tender age Marl-E has been surrounded by reggae and dancehall his whole life, taking inspiration from some of the greatest artists to have ever graced the genres, including the likes of Bob Marley, Garnett Silk, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Mavado and Busy Signal. Marl-E also looks beyond Reggae and Dancehall and towards Hip Hop and RnB for further inspiration from artists like Michael Jackson, Usher, DMX, Jay-Z and J Cole. Marl-E began recording professionally in 2016, making a big impact early in his career with his single ‘Tic A Likkle’ which was released in summer 2017. Ultimately, he hopes to be remembered as one of the artists that helped to bring dancehall into the mainstream and move it away from it’s current underground status.
