Marta Popovici is a jazz singer-songwriter using strong imagery to create an emotional journey to a cathartic release. When through her music she asks you “How are you?”, she means it. It is an invitation to dig deeper and be honest with yourself. Born and raised in Romania, currently based in The Netherlands, she keeps challenging the borders between jazz, pop, fusion, folk and rock. Inspired by artists such as Becca Stevens, Esperanza Spalding, Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell, Marta fuses the harmonic richness of jazz with the poetic lyricism of storytelling.
