Mcebisi Nyandeni (Magagu) is a Maskandi guitarist and storyteller from Ulundi, KwaZulu-Natal. Inspired by his late father, he began playing guitar in 2009, turning music into both purpose and survival. After his father’s passing, he moved to Johannesburg, where he faced harsh realities with no support system — only his guitar. Those experiences shaped his honest, emotionally driven songwriting. Blending traditional Maskandi with real-life storytelling, his music reflects hope, struggle, love, faith, and resilience. Now based in Tsakane, Brakpan and working with management to launch his career, Magagu is building a legacy rooted in truth.
