Michael, a.k.a. Mic D to the world was born July 1985, with the passion to make a difference, while also being unique and different. ​ (The Passion) for change and the attitude for making a difference was born and seared within the heart of Michael, mainly because of the negative atmosphere that surrounded him, growing up on the northside of Flint. With all this going on, it wasn’t easy to be positive, but there was hope within his heart. ​ (The Escape) The only way that Michael could escape the crime and disaster in his neighborhood was through music and writing. Michael loved music, and as he matured, he felt a sense of relief after graduating from Northwestern High school in 2003. He fixed his mind on doing “Whatever It Takes”, to become the opposite of his environment. ​ ​
