After first diving into music production at just fifteen, Mike Booth, formerly known in the mid-00s dubstep surge as “Coffee Drop”, returns with a renewed creative fire. Following a decade-long break, 2025 marks the year he steps back behind the DAW, reconnecting with the sound that shaped his youth: bass-heavy, atmospheric, and unapologetically underground. Shaped by the original waves of dubstep and UK garage, and inspired by the modern resurgence of low-end-driven electronic music, his new direction pulls threads from multiple corners of the scene, dubstep grit, UKG swing, future-house sheen, and even the darker, harder edges of techno. The result is a sound that feels both nostalgic and forward-leaning. Re-emerging with maturity, fresh ears and a producer’s instinct sharpened by time, Mike is carving out a space that blends old-school character with modern weight. This isn’t a comeback, it’s a rediscovery of why he fell in love with production in the first place.
