Michael "Waido" Waido is the frontman, principal songwriter, and driving force behind Waido Experience—Northern Colorado’s premier high-octane roots-rock outfit. Born in 1979 and raised in the heart of NoCo, Waido’s music journey started early with choir, piano, and drums before grabbing his first guitar at age 12. Fuelled by the raw energy of the early '90s grunge wave—cutting his teeth on Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, and BUSH—he was already opening for regional bands across Denver, Boulder, and Lincoln by the time he was 19. Equipped with a history degree from Colorado State University and a penchant for storytelling, Waido blew open the regional college bar and ski-town circuit at 21, launching a localized movement from the stage of downtown Fort Collins’ iconic Lucky Joe’s.
