Chemical Butterfly
After a long time on the road with a variety of acts, Mick felt the time had come to produce a new solo album. It took six months of writing, re-writing, composing, pre-producing and arranging, before he finally moved into the Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, to record what was to become Chemical Butterfly. With drummer Dave Menkehorst, Rob van der Loo on bass, and Thomas Meeuwis on guitar, most of the songs were recorded live, giving the album its organic feel. After 2 days of intense recording sessions, the album was about to enter the next phase of its amazing journey: post-production in Jonas Pap’s Studio for strings, Mengwerk Hilversum for the guitar overdubs, Len van de Laak’s studio in Amsterdam for keyboards, recording vocals in Mick’s Home Studio, mixing by Dave Menkehorst in Den Bosch and finally mastering by Pieter Kloos in Eindhoven.
