Inspired by the amazing legends such as Marvin Gay, Smokey Robinson, Tank, Mali Music, P.J. Morton, Stevie Wonder, and Teddy Riley, Babyface and Teddy Pendergrass for their lyrical abilities, NU prides himself on being an apt storyteller for this generation of R&B artists. Nu is a trained performer since age 6 under his mother’s tutelage who is a gifted songstress and major influencer in his life. In addition to his mother, he studies the vocal abilities of David Ruffin, Stevie Wonder, Tank, Jamie Foxx, Case, K-Ci & JoJo, Dave Hollister, Avant along with other 90’s R&B artists. As a master vocal manipulator, Nu has studied and sings other genres of music as well, including Gospel, Neo Soul, Operatic, Rock, and Country. For Nu, music is everything, as he states “Vibes come from the word vibrations, right? So, music has the ability to change the rhythm of the world.”
