Opposite Idol, or o.i, has been writing lyrics since 2003, when they were 13, and has been making instrumental music since soon after that. O.i uses a mixture of programs, apps, and live instrument recordings to create their sound. Their first full length album, Hallways, was released on Soundcloud in 2016, and was rereleased on streaming platforms in 2020. Their second and third full length albums, Utopia Pt. 1 & 2, were released in the fall of 2021 on streaming platforms. Opposite Idol hopes to continue to learn and grow as an artist in the future, and sees releasing music as an important part of that process, even if the music is not at a perfect or pro level. O.i's music was previously released under the name Satellights.
